One of the best parts of any event, including the Shine On 5k, is a great t-shirt. Our t-shirts are printed by Ink13, a local Burlington screen printing and embroidery business owned by Paul Costanzo. Having a great shirt helps our event attract runners. This in turn enables Shine On to give back to the community, by raising money for the Karen DuCotey Fund for Kids. Paul & Ink13 also sponsor Shine On 5k as just a part of a strong history of giving back to the community. |
Paul has been designing and printing shirts for many organizations for close to ten years. His background and interest in graphic arts and photography translated well into this artistic outlet. Throughout his early career and school, he worked for printers helping to create designs and print-screening. This experience ultimately led him to owning his own business. Paul has given many local students the same opportunity. He employs local high school students with an interest in graphic design part time during his busiest times.
How is locally owned Ink13 different from other screen printing businesses? They are focused on providing custom art to clients. Paul works with clients to design logos and artwork for shirts and other apparel. He works with many local organizations, including schools and sports teams. He does work for all the Burlington schools, which include Lake Garda Elementary, Har-Bur Middle School and Lewis Mills High School, along with other local middle and high schools. Paul lives in Burlington and works in his home studio. His children have gone to Burlington public schools, and one of his kids even had Mrs. DuCotey for 1st grade. Paul and his family have also participated in our event in past years. This made Ink13 an obvious choice as t-shirt provider for Shine On 5k!
Ink13 also works with sports teams, including little league and girls softball teams. They work with PTA organizations and coaches to design uniforms and shirts. Paul even helps organizations to design and set-up websites to assist with fundraising efforts. He has worked for Run 169 Towns Society, designing gear and a website for the group of runners that aspire to run a race in every town in Connecticut. Several of its members have run Shine On 5k!
Paul’s dedication to giving back is also demonstrated with the fundraising work he does for several other not for profit organizations, including Dog Star Rescue and Guiding Light Orphans, which provides medical services and support to Ugandan children.
Ink13 can be found online at www.ink13.net. You can shop right from the website and check out the portfolio of fabulous designs Paul has created throughout the years. There is also a contact form to get in touch with Paul. Their facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/inkthirteen/. You can also see Paul on May 21st, with a booth at the 7th annual Shine On 5k. He will have shirt samples to check out, and if you register for this year’s Shine On by May 1st, you will get the latest Shine On 5k shirt printed by Ink13. We encourage our participants to consider Ink13 for any screen printing or embroidery needs you may have. Paul is helpful, friendly and easy to work with. His commitment to his community stands out and his work speaks for itself.
